I am not revolutionary. I’ve never marched in a protest. Most of my adult life I’ve just worked and paid taxes and enjoyed myself with what was left over. When I was young and crazy I thought police were there to mess with me. As I got older I saw them as trying to protect the general public. But somewhere early on, I was taught Yes sir, no sir when it came to police. I had an idea if I said anything other than that, there might be some consequences. I have not yet had a cause that I am willing to pay those consequences for.
I don’t see any group in power or out of power in the USA that speaks for me. I believe in the ideals of my country. I am ashamed to see people pervert those ideals to their own ends. Liberals seem to draw groups and causes that I don’t have goals in common with and conservatives live in another world than I do.
I am against assassinating leaders of other countries. That being said, genocide is deplorable and any leader or group involved in that should be stopped.
The internet and social networking is probably more to isolate people than most people realize. This is not a nostalgic view of “when I was a kid”, it’s an observation of events in my own life.
The trend in this society to get “the credit you deserve” or “the car you deserve” or anything “you deserve” is causing problems in social and economic areas. It’s a marketing technique that the public seems to have adopted as a lifestyle and a statement of entitlement. It’s not a truth. I am not sure most people would like to get what “they deserve”.
Most of the things in the “news” seem to be distractions.
The current assault on Christianity and the Church is nothing new. Attacking the Church and it’s ideals does not make someone a progressive. In this regard, I am wondering why there is not more outrage at the violence against Christians worldwide, notably Egypt goes almost unreported for whatever reason.
I am disgusted by “Real Housewives” of anywhere.
This is America, if the Kardashians figure out a way to entertain you and you give them you money, more power to them. If you don’t like them, turn them off! Watch football.
I don’t recall this country being more divided than it is now. The proof will be that anyone who comments on that will pick a side and point a finger.
